This is the detailed XCIPTV guide. If you are not sure which app or login type your device needs, start with our IPTV setup hub for Canada and come back here for the step-by-step. Our apps guide explains where XCIPTV sits among the Android players.

XCIPTV Player is an Android player app published by OTTRUN (ottrun.com), a company that builds streaming apps for operators; XCIPTV is its own-brand release. It plays the channels and on-demand library of a service you add to it: the developer states that its players contain no media content. This guide covers where the real app comes from, how to add your IPTV Canada Neo login and what to check when something does not load.

Which devices run XCIPTV

According to the developer’s app page and its Google Play listing, XCIPTV Player runs on Android TV, Android phones and Android tablets, on Android 5.0 and newer. The listing is free, shows ads, and was updated in August 2026, so the app is current.

Two things the developer does not say, and which older guides get wrong: OTTRUN does not currently document a release for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Samsung or LG, and the Amazon Fire TV family is not named either. The apps called “XCIPTV” or “XCIPTV Player” on the App Store are published by unrelated individuals, not by OTTRUN, so we do not link them. On a Fire TV Stick, Samsung, LG or Apple device, pick a player from the apps guide instead — on Fire TV, only the Fire OS models can sideload at all, and we do not document a sideload route for XCIPTV because the developer publishes no APK of its own.

Install XCIPTV from Google Play

  1. On your Android TV, Google TV box or Android phone, open Google Play and search for XCIPTV Player, or open the listing directly. Check that the developer shown is OTTRUN before you install.
  2. Install it and open it. There is nothing to register: XCIPTV has no user accounts and no subscription plans of its own.
  3. Allow the app to run on first launch; it will ask for the details of your service next.

Add your IPTV Canada Neo login

XCIPTV accepts the two login formats we send. Your welcome email after choosing one of our plans contains both: the Xtream Codes details (server address, username and password) and an M3U link. Use Xtream first — it gives XCIPTV the programme guide, catch-up and the series and film libraries as separate sections.

Xtream Codes API (recommended)

  1. On the login screen choose the Xtream Codes option.
  2. Enter the server address exactly as written in your email, including the port, then your username and password. Give the profile any name you like.
  3. Save and let the app download the channel list. On a large service the first load can take a minute or two; the programme guide fills in afterwards.

M3U link instead

If you prefer the playlist route, choose the M3U option and paste the M3U link from the same email. XCIPTV also accepts a separate EPG URL for the guide, so add the EPG link from your email if you want programme information on this route.

Features worth knowing

From the developer’s own description: two built-in video engines (ExoPlayer and VLC), so if a stream stutters in one you can switch to the other in Settings; catch-up on channels the service provides it for; a series section with seasons and episodes; favourites; backup and restore of your settings; recording of live TV to device storage; and reminders from the programme guide.

If it doesn’t load

  • “Invalid login” or an empty list: re-type the server address, username and password character by character — a trailing space or a missing port is the usual cause. If it still fails, try the M3U link to confirm the line itself is active.
  • Channels load but freeze: switch the player engine in Settings, then work through our stream performance guide.
  • No guide data: on the M3U route, add the EPG URL; on Xtream it arrives after the channel list, so give it a few minutes.
  • The app crashes after an update: clear its cache in Android settings; reinstall from Google Play if that does not help.
  • Anything else about your line: WhatsApp or the contact page.

FAQ

Is XCIPTV Player free?

Yes. The Google Play listing is free and shows ads. There is no activation fee and no account to create; the only thing you pay for is your IPTV subscription.

Which login does XCIPTV take?

The developer lists Xtream Codes API, EZServer and M3U URL. With IPTV Canada Neo, use the Xtream Codes details from your welcome email; the M3U link works as an alternative.

Does XCIPTV work on Fire TV, iPhone or a Samsung TV?

OTTRUN publishes XCIPTV Player on Google Play for Android TV, phones and tablets. It is not listed by the developer for Fire TV, iOS, Samsung or LG, and the App Store apps carrying the XCIPTV name come from unrelated sellers. Our apps guide lists a player for each of those platforms.

Does XCIPTV include channels?

No. OTTRUN states that its players contain no media content. Everything you watch comes from the service you add. Whether a given service is lawful depends on that service, not on the player; our guide to IPTV and Canadian law explains what the law looks at.

How do I update XCIPTV?

Through Google Play on the same device. If the app misbehaves after an update, clear its cache in the device’s app settings before reinstalling.
